After months of consideration, news, and disclosures, the Coke Studio season 9 inaugurated with a punch.Coke studio always played an influential role in encouraging traditional and latest talent from the music industry. In its ninth season, the show experimented with the format as multiple producers took the center stage. Producer’s duo Bilal Maqsood and Faisal Kapadia accommodate a guiding torch to them as executive producers.

This season coke studio welcomed prominent musicians on board as producers list included Noori brothers, Ali Noor and Ali Hamza, Faakhir, Jaffer Zaidi, Shiraz Uppal, Shani Arshad and Shuja Haider. These debutants not only took the music direction duties efficiently but evidently there were well prepared for the glorious innings of Coke Studio.

The artist line-up for this season is pretty inclusive with several past musicians returned for one more round. Like previous years, Zeb Bangash, Sanam Marvi, Saeen Zahoor, Ali Azmat and Haroon Shahid geared up and stole the thunder. In 9th season,  we enjoyed the music of newcomers either its Ahmed Jahanzeb, Mehwish Hayat, Momina Mustehsan, Shehzad Nawaz, Mohsin Abbas or Naseebo Lal they literally tossed us on their impeccable music numbers.
What a way to begin the eagerly-anticipated season 9!  The newest chapter of "Coke Studio" started with a heart-warming interpretation of "Aye rah-e-haq ke shaheedo"; a traditional wartime national melody that agitates national emotion and brings back the pictures of those brave spirits who died striving for our land.

This year Coke Studio 9 belongs to Momina Mustehsan. The legendary Afreen Afreen recreated by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan sahab and debutante Momina Mustesahn. Music director Faakhir Mehmood forms charm with the minimum orchestration that works as the classic backdrop for this number.

Momina Mustehsan hails from the army family, she proved that she is the pretty face with balls. In her recent interview with tribune she bluntly stated, I’d wake up as Nawaz Sharif, and resign as Prime Minister of Pakistan.
Momina Mustehsan took the nation by storm with her stanzas.

Jaane kaise baandhe tu ne akhiyon ke dor
Man mera khincha chala aaya teri or
Mere chihre ke subh zulfon ki sham
Mera sab kuchh hai piya ab se tere naam
Nazron ne teri chhuwa
To hai yih jaadu hua
Hone lagi hoon main haseen
Aafreen aafreen
Aafireen
Aafreen aafreen
Aafireen
Aafreen aafreen
Aafireen

A collaboration of Abida Parveen and Ali Sethi  ‘Aaqa’ governed this season. The soulful number sequentially hit the right chords with the audience.

Abida Parveen is a living legend her supremacy and aura is unparalleled. Maula-e-Kull is one magnificent spiritual track which you can't ignore ‘Right in the feels’.

Khaki Banda featured vocal powerhouses Ahmed Jehanzeb and Umair Jaswal, the way they retained the epic touch of sound, despite various modifications, is a musical lesson for others.

Meesha Shafi and Naeem Abbas Rufi, Aaya Laariye grasped the attention of volumes. Incomparable traditional track transformed into a peppy affair. Ironically our next wedding anthem, Meesha Shafi totally killed us with the septum piercing.

Paar Chanaa De, Shilpa Rao & Noori collaboration is undoubtedly one of the most well-thought-out and shining association in the history of the show.

Tu Hi Tu, Mehwish Hayat & Shiraz Uppal track has all the harmonious pop elements that have the capability to make a lovey-dovey zest ballad an assuring debut for Mehwish Hayat.

Mohsin Abbas Haider with his peppy rock number Udi Ja claimed for the throne. He got rave reviews and positive support from the music fraternity.

We had chartbuster tracks this season such as Paar Chanaa De, Ala Baali, Baliye (Laung Gawacha), Maula-e-Kull, Aaja Re Moray Saiyaan. Producer’s duo strings administer this season exceptionally well. Few episode are left, I’m craving for some striking numbers.
